Group Industrial Relations & Human Resources Manager Portia Gericke joined the Orion Group in 2014 as the Group Industrial Relations Manager. In mid 2022, she took on the Human Resources function as well. With more than 20 years of experience in Industrial Relations and Human Resources, she has built extensive expertise across the hospitality, real estate, security, facilities management, beauty, manufacturing, and education sectors. A graduate of Potchefstroom University, Portia specialises in labour relations, dispute resolution, organisational development, recruitment, training, performance management, and employment equity. Throughout her career, she has successfully represented employers at the CCMA and various Bargaining Councils, while providing strategic guidance on complex employment matters. Today, Portia leads the Human Resources and Industrial Relations function across the Orion Group, supporting the organisation's people strategy, employee relations, compliance, and talent development initiatives. Her practical approach, commitment to fairness, and passion for developing people continue to contribute to Orion's growth and success.
